You're about to let somebody onto your site, and right now that call gets made off a phone number a mate gave you. In Marketplace, the trade you invited puts their licence, insurance, white card and ABN on their profile, and you read it beside the number they've quoted instead of chasing it after you've said yes. Urban Pulse hasn't checked any of it. The network is open now, and what sits on a profile is the trade's own word, written down where you can go and check it yourself.

What a trade puts on their profile
Every line below is something the trade typed in and stands behind. We record it and put it where the price is. We don't verify it, and we don't rank anybody.
Who you're dealing with
trading name on the profileThe trading name of the business behind the quote, on the profile before you award anything. Not a person who answered the phone. A business, named, with somewhere to send the contract.
Trade licence
licence recorded on the profileThe licence they hold, as they've recorded it themselves. Urban Pulse hasn't confirmed it with anybody, so read it as the number you need to look up rather than a tick we've handed out.
Insurance
insurance recorded on the profileThe cover they say they carry, sitting where you'll see it while you're still reading the price. Ask for the certificate before anyone starts. We don't chase it and we don't confirm it.
Jobs they've run here
jobs awarded and finished on the networkWork awarded through Marketplace and finished on the network stays attached to the profile. It's a thin picture early on, and it says nothing about the twenty years somebody did before they got here.
The invite, the quote, the award
quotes and awards on the jobYou invited them, they put a number on it, you awarded it. That sequence is written down, so what was quoted and what was agreed doesn't come down to who remembers it better.
White card and ABN
white card and ABN on the profileThe white card for anyone going on site, and the ABN for the business. Both are typed in by the trade. Both are readable before you award, which is the only moment either of them is any use to you.
How much of it there is
how many jobs sit behind the profileOne finished job and twenty finished jobs don't read the same way, so the count is shown as a count. Nothing gets folded into a score, and nobody is ranked for you.
A thin record reads as thin
Ten jobs finished on the network tell you more than one, so we show you the count and leave the weighing up to you. There is no mark out of five here and no badge. Early on, for most profiles, there won't be much to read at all.

Read it before you award the job
The network is open. Urban Pulse records what a trade puts on a profile and doesn't verify it. Live checks against each issuer are being wired in by source, and until they land, a licence number on a profile is the trade's word written down where you can read it. This is not a guarantee of any trade or any work, and the checks you would make before letting somebody on site are still yours to make.
