Someone sent you a document
A builder, trade or consultant used Urban Pulse to send it to you. Reading it and signing it costs you nothing, and you don't need an account to do either. The link in your email is the key to it: it was made for you, it works without a password, and there's nothing to set up before you open it. Keep it to yourself and read on.
What happens when you open it
- You read the document itself. The page carries the trading name of the business that sent it, or the Urban Pulse wordmark.
- If it needs signing, you sign on the page, from a phone or a laptop. Nothing to install.
- If the sender put an amount on it, you see that amount before you pay, with GST broken out, and you pay by card on the same page. A tax invoice follows.
- Opened, signed, paid: each step is timestamped as it happens, on the document's own record.
Fair questions
Do I need an account?
No. The link opens the document, and you can read it and sign it without creating anything. If you want an account afterwards that's your call, not a condition of signing.
Does it cost me anything?
No. Reading it and signing it are free for the person on the receiving end. If the sender has asked for money, the amount is shown before you pay, GST is broken out, and you pay by card on the same page.
What does signing here actually do?
Electronic signatures are recognised under Australian law for most business documents. Every step is timestamped as it happens, and the record of what you signed and when stays with the document.
How do I know it is genuine?
Check the sender. The page carries the trading name of the business that sent it. If you weren't expecting it, ring them before you sign anything, on a number you found yourself. Your link is personal, so there's no reason to forward it to anybody.
What happens to my details?
Your name, your signature and the record of the document are kept, so there's proof of what was agreed. The Privacy Policy sets out everything we collect and why.
